I had toyed with the idea of running my own company for years but, was too afraid to try. I wasn't sure I had what it took to be a successful boss lady. Then, after writing and producing my first short-film this past summer with a dear friend, I began feeling that I was destined to keep going.
In February of 2020, I decided to take what was once a humble little writing space on Blogger and turn it into something bigger. So, it finally happened. I am the founder of INKSTANE.
When people hear the name of my company (pronounced INK STAIN), I always get the same question: "How did you come up with that and what does it mean?"
I am a writer and I have always naturally associated INK as a writing tool. I am the girl who writes blogs, scripts, songs, articles, and stories with a pen and paper. I've always been that way. Something about seeing my words or sentences crossed out and edited with my notes in the margins, always excited me. It was never about the finished product for me so much, as was the journey of how I got there. INK makes things permanent - whether it's with a pen or a digital cartridge, it's forever. But more than that, I remember when I was younger, my teachers would tell me to write in pencil if I wasn't sure about what I was writing. "You want to change or erase something, do it with led. If you write in ink, it's forever. That kind of stuck with me. when I write for you or tell you a story, I want you to remember it forever. I want what I say to live on with you, the reader, for always. Like an INKSTANE upon your heart. Corny perhaps, but that's where it all came from.
